The Vienna Neubau Choir was founded over 150 years ago as the men's singing club “Sängerlust”. In the 80s, it was converted into a mixed choir. Since 2021, the choir has been led by Martin Guthauer. Under his direction, the choir presents a wide repertoire of a cappella literature and orchestral works, including the Baroque opera “Dido & Aeneas” by Henry Purcell.

The choir attaches great importance to the combination of tradition and modernity as well as the exchange of different cultures and living environments. The members come from nine different nations and are between 20 and almost 90 years old. Respectful interaction is important to the choir, and they look for the happy moments of singing together every week.
